Impact and Evaluation

You need to be able to tell if the activities your organisation is doing is making a difference in your community: this is known as understanding and evaluating your impact.

Having clarity on the problem you are trying to solve, why your project is a good solution and how you will know if it has been effective is critically important for your own organisational planning – and for the support of funders. In this short film we discuss how to turn what might feel obvious to you into a simple evaluation plan which will ensure you can recognise, measure and explain the impact of your work. We also go through some of the often-used terminology when it comes to impact and evaluation, including ‘outcomes’, ‘outputs’, ‘logic model’ and ‘outcome indicators’.
